Why choose Bailey as your therapist?

In working with me you can expect:

  • Transparency in how I am thinking about your concerns and potential routes to get better

  • Inviting input from you on how therapy is going and what I can do to help you more effectively

  • A balance of validation and challenge to help you get unstuck from whatever brought you to therapy

  • Invitations to bodily awareness: how our emotions impact how we think and vice versa

  • Limits on what is within my scope of practice and referrals to appropriate resources when needed (medical evaluations, prescriber referrals, more specialized mental health support like substance use, etc.)

  • Humor, playfulness, and curse words

We might not be a good match if…

  • You are looking for a space to vent without being willing to look at your own participation in the dynamics (I can’t change someone who isn’t in the room with us!)

  • You want your therapist to prove you right and/or your partner(s) wrong

  • You are uninterested in learning about and/or using the signals your body gives you about safety and threat

Who I work with

Why the name “Mosscap Wellness”?

The name means several things to me. Firstly, Mosscap is the name of the robot character in my favorite book A Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers. I also believe that mushrooms represent the importance of a full life cycle. Decomposition is an essential process for life to thrive. Lastly, they kinda look like a penis :)
